Mumbai, September 6, 2025 – Classic Legends has announced significant price reductions across its Jawa and Yezdi range, with most models now available for under ₹2 lakh. The move comes after the government slashed GST on motorcycles below 350cc from 28% to 18% under the GST 2.0 reforms.
The New Price Tags
This makes the Jawa and Yezdi lineup — including the Adventure, Roadster, Bobber, and Scrambler — more accessible to young riders in India, the world’s largest two-wheeler market. The brand confirmed it will pass on the full benefit of the tax reduction to customers, coinciding with the festive season.
Anupam Thareja, Co-founder of Jawa Yezdi Motorcycles, said the reforms mark a turning point for India’s motorcycling culture. “The reduced GST on sub-350cc motorcycles makes our performance classics more attainable than ever. Decades ago, our journey was halted by a policy shift. Today, another policy shift is restoring Jawa and Yezdi to their iconic stature. We are proud to pass on 100% of the benefit to our riders,” he said.
While larger-capacity motorcycles such as the 652cc BSA Gold Star will face a higher tax burden, Thareja welcomed the progressive structure, calling it a “trade-off that strengthens the mid-segment and broadens access for India’s riders.”
Engines & Performance
Jawa and Yezdi models are powered by either a 293cc or 334cc Alpha2 liquid-cooled engine, with the latter producing 29PS and 30Nm of torque — among the best in its class.
Ownership Assurance
All motorcycles are backed by the Jawa Yezdi BSA Ownership Assurance Programme, which includes a standard 4-year/50,000 km warranty, with extended coverage of up to six years, one year of roadside assistance, and reduced after-sales component costs thanks to GST 2.0. Classic Legends’ service network has also doubled to over 450 touchpoints across India.
