Mahindra has officially rolled out the XUV 7XO in the Indian market, positioning it above the XUV 700 as its new flagship ICE SUV. Launched recently with introductory prices starting from Rs. 13.66 lakh (ex-showroom), the XUV 7XO brings a wide mix of powertrain options, seating layouts and drivetrain choices. The company has now confirmed the delivery schedule, which will begin in phases starting January 14, 2026.
In the first phase, Mahindra will commence deliveries of the AX7, AX7T and AX7L variants for customers who have already pre-booked the SUV. Deliveries of the lower trims – AX, AX3 and AX5 – will start later, from April 2026 onwards.
The XUV 7XO lineup includes AX, AX3, AX5, AX7, AX7T and AX7L trims, with buyers able to choose between six-seat and seven-seat configurations. Engine options include a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol mStallion TGDi and a 2.2-litre mHawk diesel. Both engines are offered with a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 6-speed torque converter automatic. Select diesel variants also get an all-wheel-drive system.
Pricing for the petrol manual range begins at Rs. 13.66 lakh, while the diesel manual starts at Rs. 14.96 lakh. Mid-spec AX3 and AX5 variants are priced between Rs. 16.02 lakh and Rs. 17.99 lakh. The AX7 range starts from Rs. 18.48 lakh and goes up to Rs. 24.11 lakh for the fully loaded AX7L six-seat diesel automatic. Choosing the automatic transmission costs an additional Rs. 1.45 lakh, while the AWD system commands a premium of Rs. 2.45 lakh.
These introductory prices are applicable for the first 40,000 units delivered. Mahindra has confirmed that deliveries will be staggered to manage demand and production capacity efficiently.
Even the base AX variant is generously equipped. It comes with triple 31.24 cm HD displays, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, Alexa voice assistant with ChatGPT integration, cruise control, push-button start and ADRENOX connected car technology. Safety is a major focus, with features such as six airbags included as standard, contributing to a total safety count of over 75 features from the base trim itself.
Higher variants further raise the bar with premium additions like a 16-speaker Harman Kardon sound system supporting Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision, a 540-degree camera system, Level 2 ADAS with visual overlays, ventilated seats for both front and rear occupants, powered front seats with memory function, Boss Mode, wireless charging pads, ambient lighting and an electrochromic IRVM.
On the mechanical front, the XUV 7XO debuts Mahindra’s new DAVINCI valve-based damping suspension setup. This works alongside a McPherson strut front suspension and a multi-link rear suspension. Drive modes include Zip, Zap and Zoom, along with a customizable mode. Mahindra claims more than 120 safety features overall, including seven airbags, Level 2 ADAS, electronic parking brake, TPMS and built-in digital video recording.
With its phased delivery plan, extensive feature list and wide range of configurations, the Mahindra XUV 7XO aims to strengthen the brand’s presence in the premium SUV space in India.
