Maruti Suzuki India Limited has set a new production benchmark by manufacturing over 22.55 lakh vehicles in calendar year 2025, marking its highest-ever annual output. This achievement also makes 2025 the second consecutive year in which the company has crossed the 20 lakh production milestone, underlining its strong manufacturing momentum.
The total production includes vehicles for domestic sales, exports and OEM supplies. During the year, the Fronx, Baleno, Swift, Dzire and Ertiga emerged as the top five models in terms of production volume, reflecting sustained demand for Maruti Suzuki’s core portfolio across hatchback, sedan and MPV segments.
Commenting on the milestone, Hisashi Takeuchi, Managing Director and CEO, Maruti Suzuki India Limited, said the record output was driven by the commitment of the company’s workforce and close collaboration with supplier partners. He highlighted that high levels of localisation have enabled Maruti Suzuki to scale up production while maintaining global quality standards, showcasing the strength and competitiveness of India’s automotive manufacturing ecosystem. He added that the company remains aligned with the Government of India’s ‘Make in India’ initiative and is focused on further strengthening the country’s automobile manufacturing capabilities.
Maruti Suzuki began its journey in 1983 with its first manufacturing facility in Gurugram, Haryana. Over the decades, the company has steadily expanded its production footprint with plants in Gurugram, Manesar and Kharkhoda in Haryana, along with the recently amalgamated Gujarat facility. Supported by a strong multi-tier supplier and dealer network, Maruti Suzuki currently manufactures 17 models and over 650 variants across its modern production facilities.
Looking ahead, Maruti Suzuki plans to expand its manufacturing capacity to 4 million units per annum. This expansion will help the company cater to growing domestic demand while strengthening its presence in international markets, reinforcing its position as India’s largest passenger vehicle manufacturer.
