Nissan has confirmed that its upcoming C-segment SUV, the Tekton, will make its official debut in India in February 2026. This model will be the brand’s next major launch under its renewed India strategy and will sit alongside the next-generation Renault Duster as its sibling product.
The unveiling timeline was announced during the name reveal of Nissan’s upcoming B-MPV, Gravite. The Gravite, first showcased through design sketches in October 2025, marks the beginning of Nissan’s aggressive revival plan for the Indian market leading up to FY28.
Recently released design sketches of the Tekton showcase a bold and upright SUV profile, drawing clear inspiration from Nissan’s globally sold Patrol. The squared-off body, muscular proportions, and sharp detailing are complemented by Nissan’s latest design language, including a new grille pattern, modern alloy wheels, and a distinctive lighting setup.
Mechanically, the Tekton is expected to mirror the Renault Duster, sharing the same engines, platform, and feature set. Production will take place at the Nissan-Renault manufacturing facility in Chennai, with the SUV being developed not only for India but also for export to both right-hand-drive and left-hand-drive markets.
From a market perspective, the Tekton will be a crucial product for Nissan. It will compete in one of India’s most crowded and competitive SUV segments, going up against models such as the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Grand Vitara, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, MG Astor, Honda Elevate, Tata Curvv, Skoda Kushaq, Volkswagen Taigun, and the upcoming Maruti Victoris.
The Tekton forms a key part of Nissan’s four-vehicle rollout plan for India. This strategy includes the Magnite, the newly named Gravite MPV, the Tekton C-SUV, and a larger three-row SUV that is scheduled to arrive in early 2027.
