Mahindra is preparing a major update for its flagship SUV, and the company’s latest trademark filing confirms that the next-generation XUV700 facelift will likely be launched as the Mahindra XUV7XO in January 2026. The trademark, filed with the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, signals a shift to Mahindra’s new “XO” naming strategy, already seen on the XUV3XO.
According to recent filings, the XUV7XO trademark has been marked as “Accepted and Advertised,” showing that Mahindra is preparing the name for public use. While trademarks don’t guarantee final branding, this move strongly hints that the popular XUV700 will transition to the XUV7XO name with its 2026 facelift.
This new naming pattern aligns with how customers pronounce the model (XUV “seven double O”), bringing the written badge closer to common usage. Mahindra has also protected several similar “XO” names, suggesting wider brand restructuring.
Test vehicles of the 2026 Mahindra XUV7XO facelift have revealed several styling changes. Expected upgrades include:
The SUV’s core silhouette, including the muscular body lines and flush door handles, is expected to remain unchanged.
The biggest transformation of the Mahindra XUV7XO interior will be a completely revamped dashboard. The facelift is expected to adopt a triple-screen setup similar to the BE 6e and XEV 9e electric SUVs.
The updated cabin will likely include:
This upgrade positions the XUV7XO as one of the most feature-loaded SUVs in its segment.
Mahindra is set to enhance its Level 2 ADAS features for the XUV7XO facelift. The system may include:
The updated software is expected to offer smoother operation and better real-world detection.
The 2026 Mahindra XUV7XO will continue to use the current engine lineup:
While the engine family remains unchanged, minor tuning improvements may be introduced. A strong-hybrid variant is expected later in 2026, but not at launch.
The current XUV700 is priced between ₹13.66 lakh and ₹23.71 lakh (ex-showroom). With the major interior and tech upgrades, the Mahindra XUV7XO price is expected to increase by ₹50,000 to ₹1 lakh depending on the variant.
Even with the hike, it will remain competitive against:
Since its launch in 2021, the XUV700 has been a strong performer for Mahindra, often touching year-long waiting periods. The aggressive tech and feature upgrade aims to replicate that success.
The XUV7XO will join the growing family of XO-branded vehicles, including XUV3XO and trademarked names like XUV1XO and XUV5XO. Mahindra is expected to use the XO branding for its ICE and hybrid SUVs, while electric vehicles will continue with “e” or “9e” suffixes.
Production of the facelifted model is expected to begin in December 2025, with the Mahindra XUV7XO launch date scheduled for January 2026.
