Tata Motors is gearing up to introduce the Punch EV facelift in India on February 20, 2026, giving its popular electric micro-SUV a mid-life update just over two years after its original launch in January 2024. While the company has not revealed official details yet, the updated model is expected to borrow several design and feature upgrades from the recently refreshed ICE Punch.

Expected design updates
The Punch EV facelift is likely to receive a revised front and rear design. Styling cues that distinguish the EV from the petrol version — such as the closed-off grille area with a front charging lid, connected LED DRLs and aero-optimised alloy wheels — should continue. However, Tata may introduce new connected LED tail-lamps at the rear, aligning the EV with the latest ICE Punch facelift.

There is also speculation around the possibility of ADAS. The ICE Punch facelift features a front bumper housing that resembles a radar sensor module, though it does not offer ADAS. This has raised expectations that Tata could bring an entry-level ADAS suite to the Punch EV facelift.

Interior and features
Inside the cabin, the overall dashboard layout is expected to remain largely unchanged, but the infotainment system could see a major upgrade. Tata may equip the Punch EV facelift with a larger 12.3-inch touchscreen similar to the one in the Nexon EV.

Other features likely to be retained include a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, automatic climate control, ventilated front seats, wireless phone charging, a 360-degree camera, an auto-dimming IRVM and ambient lighting. These features already position the Punch EV strongly in its segment and are expected to continue.

Powertrain expectations
Mechanically, the Punch EV facelift is expected to carry forward the existing battery and motor options. The current model comes with two battery packs:
• 25 kWh pack with a claimed range of 265 km, paired with an 82 hp and 114 Nm motor
• 35 kWh pack with a claimed range of 365 km, paired with a 122 hp and 190 Nm motor

No major changes are anticipated here, as the current setup already offers competitive real-world usability for urban buyers.

Expected pricing
The facelifted model is likely to be priced at a slight premium over the current Punch EV, which retails between Rs 9.99 lakh and Rs 14.44 lakh (ex-showroom). The final pricing and variant details will be clear at the official debut later this month.

With this update, Tata Motors aims to keep the Punch EV fresh in an increasingly competitive affordable EV market, where design, features and technology are becoming key differentiators.
