
BYD India has announced a price increase for its premium electric SUV, the BYD SEALION 7, effective January 1, 2026. The revision applies to the SEALION 7 Premium variant, which will see a hike of ₹50,000, while the Performance variant will continue at its existing price.
Following the revision, the ex-showroom price of the BYD SEALION 7 Premium (82.56 kWh) will increase from ₹48.90 lakh to ₹49.40 lakh. The SEALION 7 Performance variant remains unchanged at ₹54.90 lakh (ex-showroom). BYD India has clarified that all bookings made on or before December 31, 2025, will be honoured at the current prices, offering customers an opportunity to lock in the earlier rates.
According to the company, the price adjustment reflects rising cost dynamics and continued investment in advanced technology, safety systems and customer experience infrastructure, while maintaining long-term value for buyers.
Commenting on the development, Rajeev Chauhan, Head of Electric Passenger Vehicles Business at BYD India, said that the updated pricing continues to position the SEALION 7 as a compelling premium electric SUV. He added that the model has already crossed 2,300 units in sales across India, indicating strong customer acceptance in the growing premium EV segment.
The BYD SEALION 7 is built on the brand’s Cell-to-Body (CTB) architecture and uses BYD’s Blade Battery technology. It is equipped with an 82.56 kWh battery pack and has received a 5-star Euro NCAP safety rating. The Performance variant produces 390 kW of power and 690 Nm of torque, enabling a 0–100 km/h sprint in 4.5 seconds, while the Premium variant delivers 230 kW and 380 Nm, achieving the same benchmark in 6.7 seconds. The claimed driving range goes up to 567 km (NEDC) on a full charge.
BYD India has also received multiple recognitions for the SEALION 7, including awards for battery technology and luxury mid-size SUV of the year, strengthening its premium positioning in the Indian EV market.
Currently, BYD India operates through a network of 47 showrooms across 40 cities, offering sales, service and charging support. The company reiterated its commitment to accelerating electric vehicle adoption in India while focusing on sustainability and customer-centric growth strategies.
