New Delhi, March 25, 2026 – Renault India has announced the ARAI-certified fuel efficiency figures for the upcoming Renault Duster powered by the Turbo TCe 160 engine. The company states that the SUV delivers 18.45 km/l with the DCT automatic transmission and 17.75 km/l with the 6-speed manual transmission, according to certification from the Automotive Research Association of India.
The new Duster is powered by a 1.3-litre turbo-petrol engine producing 163 PS of power and 280 Nm of torque, making it one of the most powerful offerings in its segment. The engine is paired with Renault’s latest dual-clutch automatic transmission, designed to provide faster and smoother gear shifts while maintaining fuel efficiency.
Speaking on the development, V. Vikraman, Chief of Renault Engineering at Renault Group India, said the ARAI-certified figures highlight the strength of Renault’s engineering capabilities and its focus on delivering strong overall value. He added that the Turbo 160 engine uses advanced solutions such as low-friction coatings and high-pressure fuel injection to optimise combustion and improve efficiency.
Renault also noted that the new Duster has been engineered specifically for Indian driving conditions, combining strong performance with the brand’s focus on ride comfort and handling. With its turbo-petrol powertrain and optimised drivetrain, the SUV aims to deliver a balance of performance, responsiveness and competitive fuel economy in the segment.
The return of the Duster nameplate is expected to play an important role in strengthening Renault’s SUV portfolio in India, with the Turbo TCe 160 engine positioned as a key highlight of the upcoming model.
