Vietnamese EV manufacturer VinFast has set a new milestone by completing 3,520 electric vehicle orders in a single day on March 28, 2026. The achievement highlights the company’s strong operational capability while also reflecting the rapidly growing demand for electric mobility in Vietnam.
The company announced that all 3,520 vehicles ordered on that day were fully processed and prepared to leave the factory. The vehicles will now be transported to dealerships before being delivered to customers across the country.
The scale of this achievement becomes even more significant when placed in context. The 3,520 orders completed in a single day are comparable to the monthly sales figures of some automakers in Vietnam. The processing speed translates to an average of 146 orders per hour, or roughly 2.4 orders every minute.
The announcement quickly gained attention across online forums and user communities, where many people expressed surprise at the company’s speed and efficiency.
One user, Phạm Văn Minh, wrote that completing more than 3,500 orders in a single day — especially on a weekend — demonstrates the strong capabilities of VinFast’s production and business teams.
Another user, Hồng Lan, pointed out that the milestone reflects the growing consumer interest in switching to electric vehicles. With fuel prices fluctuating frequently, many gasoline vehicle owners are now considering moving to electric mobility.
She noted that electric vehicles offer several advantages, including lower running costs and freedom from fuel price volatility. In addition, EVs are seen as cleaner and more environmentally friendly, making the shift toward electric mobility an increasingly inevitable trend.
Strong momentum in Vietnam’s EV market
Industry observers believe that VinFast is likely to continue setting new sales milestones in 2026, given its strong position in the domestic market.
Since 2024, the company has maintained the number one position in Vietnam’s automotive market. In 2025, VinFast delivered 175,099 vehicles to customers.
The company also achieved a major milestone in December 2025 when it sold 27,649 vehicles in a single month. This figure set a record for monthly sales by a single automaker in Vietnam and is comparable to the annual sales volumes of some smaller brands in the market.
Building a nationwide EV ecosystem
Experts say the company’s continued success is closely tied to its long-term strategy of building a comprehensive electric mobility ecosystem.
A major part of this strategy involves charging infrastructure developed in partnership with V-Green. The network currently includes plans for around 150,000 charging ports across Vietnam’s 34 provinces and cities.
In addition, the company is preparing to install 99 ultra-fast charging hubs equipped with 150 kW chargers along major national and provincial highways. This network expansion aims to make long-distance EV travel more convenient and practical for users.
VinFast has also established a large service network, with more than 400 service workshops operating across the country to support vehicle owners.
According to Dr. Lê Hoàng Nam, a transportation planning expert, the company’s record-breaking performance is not surprising given the rapid development of its EV ecosystem.
He explained that when a complete ecosystem — including vehicles, charging infrastructure, and service support — is developed in a coordinated manner, consumers feel more confident about switching to electric vehicles.
The expert added that the transition to electric mobility not only benefits individual consumers but also contributes to broader environmental and economic goals. By accelerating the adoption of EVs, countries can reduce emissions and gradually decrease their dependence on fossil fuels such as gasoline and diesel.
