Gurugram | September 16, 2026: Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) has revealed the first design sketches of its upcoming Intelligent SUV, the Hyundai BAYON. The design reveal comes shortly after Hyundai announced the name of the new SUV for the Indian market.
Developed as a global product, the Hyundai BAYON has been designed with a strong SUV character, bold styling and an emphasis on everyday urban versatility. The sketches provide the first glimpse of Hyundai’s evolving Art of Steel design language, which combines sculpted surfaces, sharp character lines and muscular proportions.
According to Hyundai, the BAYON is designed to offer a sporty, stylish and robust appearance while catering to modern urban lifestyles.

The exterior sketches showcase the BAYON with a bold SUV stance and a distinctive design identity. Hyundai’s Art of Steel design philosophy focuses on shaping metal into forms that communicate strength, movement and character.
At the front, the SUV features a sculpted hood, pronounced fender volumes and Hyundai’s distinctive H-Edge lighting signature. The lighting elements are integrated with the overall front-end design to give the BAYON a futuristic appearance.
The front design is further complemented by robust lower-body elements, while sharp character lines and sculpted surfaces give the SUV a muscular and youthful look.
Hyundai has also released a sketch of the BAYON’s interior, offering an early glimpse of its cabin design.
The interior has been conceived around modern urban lifestyles, with Hyundai focusing on technology, connectivity and intuitive design. The company describes the cabin as modern, innovative and user-friendly, with advanced technology and seamless connectivity forming key elements of the interior experience.

Commenting on the design philosophy of the Hyundai BAYON, Simon Loasby, Senior Vice President and Head of Hyundai Design Center, Hyundai Motor Company, said that Hyundai wanted the SUV to make a confident first impression as it enters India.
According to Loasby, the BAYON has been conceived as an Intelligent Utility Vehicle, combining intelligent technology and thoughtful design for modern urban lifestyles.
The sculpted hood, bold fender volumes and H-Edge lighting are among the key design elements highlighted by Hyundai as part of the SUV’s distinctive identity.
Hyundai says the BAYON was conceived around the idea of bringing SUV confidence to customers who primarily drive in urban environments.
The upcoming SUV aims to combine the visual appeal and capability associated with an SUV with the versatility required for everyday city use.
