New Delhi: Maruti Suzuki India Limited has officially commenced commercial production at the second manufacturing plant at its Kharkhoda facility in Haryana, further strengthening its production footprint in India.
The newly operational plant has an annual production capacity of 2.5 lakh units, taking the total production capacity at the Kharkhoda facility to 5 lakh units per annum. With this expansion, Maruti Suzuki’s total annual manufacturing capacity across its facilities in Gurugram, Manesar, Kharkhoda, and Hansalpur has now reached 26.5 lakh units.
The company stated that once fully developed, the Kharkhoda manufacturing facility will become one of Suzuki’s largest four-wheeler manufacturing hubs globally, with an overall production capability of up to 10 lakh vehicles annually.
This expansion is aligned with Maruti Suzuki’s previously announced plan to add 5 lakh units of manufacturing capacity during FY2026-27.
Currently, the Kharkhoda facility manufactures the compact SUV Brezza along with the mid-size SUV Victoris.
The foundation stone for the Kharkhoda plant was laid by Narendra Modi in August 2022, marking a major milestone in Haryana’s growing automotive manufacturing ecosystem.
Maruti Suzuki said the expansion will help the company cater to rising domestic demand while also supporting export growth in the coming years.
