The all-new compact SUV, the Skoda Kylaq that will make its world debut in India in 2025, takes the nomenclature voted by the people, while following Skoda’s SUV family naming tradition.
Following the debut of the Kushaq SUV in July 2021 and the Slavia sedan in March 2022, which together helped Skoda Auto India achieve record sales and reach 100,000 cars sold in record time, the Skoda Kylaq will be the third all-new, India-specific model developed by Skoda Auto India.
The all-new compact SUV will introduce Skoda’s Modern Solid design language to India, featuring high ground clearance and ample wheel arch space for robust SUV capability. It will showcase refined DRL light signatures and a distinctive hexagon pattern on the side and rear, blending traditional Skoda SUV aesthetics with modern details. Currently in rigorous testing across India, the compact SUV is set to deliver a ‘big car’ feel within a compact footprint, as production ramps up with local suppliers.
The Skoda Kylaq is expected to be priced between ₹8.00 lakh and ₹12.00 lakh, depending on the selected variant.
The Skoda Kylaq teaser reveals a split LED headlamp design with LED DRLs, a tall bonnet with ridges, chunky wheel arches, and roof rails.
The new Skoda Kylaq will be equipped with the brand’s 1.0-litre TSI petrol engine, delivering 114bhp and 178Nm of torque, and offered with either a six-speed manual or a six-speed torque converter automatic transmission.
Upon its arrival, the Skoda Kylaq will compete against key rivals in the segment, including the Tata Nexon, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Mahindra XUV300, Kia Sonet, Hyundai Venue, and Nissan Magnite.
