The Maruti Suzuki eVX marks a significant step for the company in the electric vehicle market. The SUV’s unveiling in January 2025 will give us a glimpse into how Maruti Suzuki plans to compete in the growing EV segment.

That’s a noteworthy strategy! Manufacturing the eVX in India and targeting export markets like Europe and Japan highlights Maruti Suzuki’s ambition to establish a strong presence in the global electric vehicle market. Focusing on international markets first might also help the company tap into regions where demand for electric SUVs is particularly strong.

The production target of 150,000 units per year suggests they’re gearing up for significant demand. It’ll be interesting to see how the eVX stacks up against competitors in these markets and what features or innovations it might bring to the table.

A Maruti executive recently stated that the BEV will be announced at the Auto Expo in January 2025, with a planned launch in early 2025, prioritizing Europe initially.

The eVX will utilize a skateboard platform and is expected to offer two battery options, providing up to 550 km of range. It will feature both single and dual-motor configurations. Key features are anticipated to include dual-zone automatic climate control, a 360-degree camera, a wireless phone charger, a head-up display, and advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS).

When introduced, the eVX will target competitors such as the Tata Curvv EV, Hyundai Creta EV, BYD Atto 3, and Mahindra’s upcoming born EV lineup.

The eVX will be sold through Maruti Suzuki’s Nexa outlets and is expected to be available in Sigma, Delta, Zeta, and Alpha variants.

The new Maruti eVX will feature dual-pod projector headlamps, a distinctive new grille, silver multi-spoke alloy wheels, LED taillights, and a rear LED light bar. Additional design elements include front door-mounted ORVMs, a rear wiper and washer, roof rails, a shark-fin antenna, a rear bumper-mounted number plate recess, and an integrated spoiler.

The Maruti Suzuki eVX will be powered by a 60 kWh battery pack and an electric motor, with a claimed range of 550 km on a single full charge.

Inside, the Maruti Suzuki eVX is anticipated to offer a large touchscreen unit, a fully digital instrument console, a two-spoke multifunction steering wheel, electrically adjustable front seats, a floating center console, glossy-black inserts, and an auto-dimming IRVM.

The Maruti Suzuki eVX, an SUV, is expected to launch in India next year, with a price range of Rs. 20.00 – 25.00 lakh.
